These products were originally created for our sister company, Studio D a design and strategy consultancy based in San Francisco. The studio provides a discreet service across the globe, and routinely runs projects in places like Brazil, China, Myanmar, Saudi Arabia and Somalia. Projects routinely have limited margin of error, hence the specialised equipment.
In many countries project expenses and payroll for the local crew need to be carried in cash. Whether you’re managing a team of twenty working for extended periods at the edge of the grid, or on a solo trip to negotiate a cash discount on a new rig, these pouches are designed for discreet, safe carry.
The Money Pouch addresses the four main issues with carrying volume banknotes in field: the risk of discovery, risk of damage (especially in high-humidity, monsoon environments), the weight of the container, and in-field accounting.
Overtly sealed pouches attract undue attention at checkpoints, border crossings and airport security. Each pouch is built from the same grade Dyneema that is used on the D3 Traveller duffel. Despite being two times stronger than Kevlar or about half the weight, the material maintains an inconspicuous appearance. It takes, on average, three trips for a pouch to reach a matte, crumpled state.
These versatile pouches also serve well as a general purpose packing cubes. The 10k fits pens, passport, toiletries, smartphone and other small travel essentials. The 100k fits electronics, cables, underwear, travel sports gear and other moderates sized essentials. The 400k fits a trip's worth of t-shirts or trousers.
